AKS-74U was created in 1977 for the Soviet Army as a step between a submachine gun and an assault rifle. Its design is based on the AKS-74 carbine in which the barrel was shortened and appropriately reconstructed including the gas block, muzzle device and ironsights. The carbine was used as an armament of vehicle crews, paratroopers, special forces and the police. The version marked with the letter N is equipped with a dovetail mounting rail.
The body of the replica, battery compartment cover, sights, trigger and its cover, external barrel with muzzle device, reloading lever, side-folding stock and suspension mounts are made of metal. The pistol grip and magazine are made of durable plastic. The handguard is made of real wood, just like the original.
The use of metal gearbox type v3 with reinforced parts allows the replica to achieve initial velocity of approx. 350 fps. Thanks to the compatibility of mechanisms with parts of other manufacturers replica is a great base for further tuning and modifications.
The replica is equipped with adjustable HopUp system, which is accessed by pulling back the reloading lever. The kit includes a composite Hi-Cap type magazine with a capacity of 500 rounds.
The CM.035A model was made in Tokyo Marui standard - its construction is based on bolts, unlike the original AK firearms made with the use of pins and rivets. Only accessories and parts made in this standard will fit the replica - accessories for firearms will not fit, or will require extensive reworking.
