Use of squeeze mechanism instead of the typical button allows for easy attachment and removal of the ear with one hand. The clever design of the ear loop prevents unwanted belt movement of the tactical suspension, keeping it in the desired straight position. A notch is placed in the centre of the loop to prevent the cord from moving.
The ear is made of stainless steel 17-4, subjected to the QPQ hardening process - this ensures the necessary strength and resistance to mechanical damage and high loads.
