The abrasive surface in the sharpener is hard tungsten carbide, which restores sharpness after just a few passes of the knife through the sharpening slot. The fixed sharpening angle is set at a value of 22.5° per side.
The Lansky Edge features a contoured handle for easy sharpening and a comfortable thumb rest. When sharpening, be sure not to press the blade of the knife too hard against the sharpener because the tungsten carbides aggressively pick at the steel.
