The cartridge complements the Personal Guard System (PGS) defense system. The cartridge contains 11 ml of capsaicin-based pepper gas in gel form with an OC concentration of 10%, which corresponds to a strength of 2,000,000 SHU. It causes severe irritation of the conjunctiva and upper respiratory tract, incapacitating the attacker for up to 30 minutes. The jet in the form of a ballistic beam allows the substance to be sprayed even at a distance of up to 4.5 meters.
The use of UV dye allows the attacker to be marked for a long time, facilitating later identification. The dye is active even after the irritant has been discontinued and the gel has been washed off the skin. The cartridge is compatible with Walther PGS pistols, for example, PGS II 2.2058-1 or PGS II 2.2057-1. The gas thrower can be inserted into a special belt holster for convenient carrying.
