The marker is lightweight, durable and easy to install thanks to a hard hook coating on the base and an included self-adhesive soft loop patch. Its curved shape adapts to the shape of the helmet, reducing the user profile. The device is waterproof according to IPX8 standard, which gives it resistance to rain, splash and submersion to a depth of 1 meter.
F101 has four modes of operation: continuous green, white pulsating and infrared pulsating at 60 (US) or 30 (NATO) flashes per minute. The device is powered by a single battery CR123A
