Manix 2 Lightweight CPM SPY27 Plain, the second generation of one of the most recognizable folding knives from Spyderco. Extremely lightweight design, with a CPM SPY27 steel blade .
A powerful EDC knife with a folding head of premium 154CM steel from Spydero. The design features Spyderco's new patented Ball Bearing Lock. It is operated by a slider located on both sides of the handle.
In collaboration with Crucible® Industries, it developed its own CPM SPY27 stainless steel, where SPY refers to Spyderco and 27 is the atomic number of cobalt (Co). CPM SPY27 - a proprietary blend of alloys including vanadium, molybdenum, niobium, nitrogen and cobalt. It contains 1.4% carbon and a 1% admixture of niobium (Nb), one of the best carbides, which contributes to the steel's wear resistance.
Head - with Leaf-Shaped profile, 3.2 mm thick. The head was coated with a non-reflective matte Stone Washed coating (masking minor scratches from use). The Plain smooth blade was derived with a Full Flat Grind. The flat grind provides excellent cutting edge geometry with a sharp tip. The enlarged 14mm round SpyderHole cutout (Spyderco patent) allows the knife to be opened even with a glove. The pronounced Finger Choil - an arched undercut for the index finger and a notched thumb ramp on the back of the blade increase control of the knife.
Durable steel liners
The steel liners feature non-slip textured liners made of FRN material. The serrated surface at the base of the blade provides secure support for the thumb. The stag-shaped handle with a serrated surface at the back of the handle prevents the hand from slipping on the blade while working.
The handle is made of lightweight FRCP plastic and features Bi-Directional Texturing (Bi-Directional Texturing) non-slip facings for excellent grip in all conditions (including with greasy, wet hands). The folder is equipped with a screw-on molded wire clip (left/right) allowing to carry the knife in tip-up position (tip up). Spine Jimping notches on the back of the handle increase comfort and grip security. At the back of the handle, an enlarged hole (lanyard hole) for pulling a lanyard or safety line.
