The Pacific Salt 2 FRN Yellow is a knife designed specifically for use in extreme conditions by Spyderco's founder, Sall Glesser. It is made of Spyder H2 steel suitable for prolonged contact with moisture, and is resistant to salt and rust. Knives in this series are very popular among sailors, divers, anglers, fishermen and survival enthusiasts.
Spyder H-2 steel, is an austenitic stainless knife steel, thanks to which the knife is suitable for being in fresh as well as salt water, and will not rust even when left wet after use. Spyderco's patented Spyder Edge blade, features an innovative edge geometry consisting of alternating large and small serrations. This pattern is ideal for cutting hard materials, plastics and fibrous materials.
The knife's head, with a Clip Point profile, features an enlarged circular SpyderHole cutout, making it easy to open even with tactical gloves. The serrated Spyder Edge blade is brought out with a concave grind (Hollow Grind), which improves cutting geometry. The Back-Lock type blade lock, with an additional Boye Detent cutout, prevents accidental release of the lock even during intensive use.
The handle is made of FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon) in yellow, reinforced with fiberglass. Covered with a non-slip textured cover (Bi-Directional Texturing), which improves grip in wet hands. The knife is equipped with a modular screw-on black steel clip (top/bottom, left/right), and additionally there is a hole (lanyard hole) in the back of the facings for pulling a lanyard or cord.
