The Real Avid® Pivot Pin Tool-Pro is designed to drive the front pin that attaches the lower to the upper receiver on the AR-15. The clever design makes it possible to quickly and effortlessly complete this notoriously inconvenient maintenance task.

The tool is all-metal and consists of three parts. The first is a plunger used to install the detent spring that locks the pin, the second is a wrench in the form of a replacement pin and the third is a housing for the plunger and pin. The parts assemble and work together, making it possible to do the job in even less than a minute when used simultaneously.
