The Bandicoot is a medium-sized hip bag manufactured by Helikon, with a capacity of approximately 2.7 liters. It represents a larger version of the Possum bag from the same manufacturer and features a sizable capacity, configurability and discreet appearance.
The Bandicoot is equipped with three pockets: a front, main compartment with an organizer with three dividers and elastic straps, a second smaller pocket in the front, and a hidden pocket on the body side. These will accommodate everyday personal essentials or EDC kit items such as a folding knife or basic medical supplies.
The Bandicoot is equipped with an internal organizer compatible with the Versaitile Insert System. It allows you to organize the equipment you carry, and can be removed as needed and replaced with another that fits your needs.
The bag has an adjustable hip belt with the possibility of changing the arrangement of the buckles or removing them completely - we can then attach the bag directly to the tactical belt. The side straps of the MOLLE system allow us to attach additional pockets or other accessories. The whole is complemented by a Velcro panel located in the front for personalization.
The material used for sewing is in the legendary Rhodesian camouflage, which gained fame during the Rhodesian Bush War 1964 - 1979. It was used by Rhodesian soldiers and is associated especially with elite units such as Selous Scouts, Rhodesian SAS, Rhodesian Light Infantry (RLI), or Rhodesian African Rifles (RAR). It is derived from the brushstroke camouflage used on the British Denison Smock parachute jackets, then adapted to the colors of the local bush and the conditions in the Zambezi River area and in the territory of present-day Zimbabwe. It is a kind of cult symbol of effectiveness in fighting communist partisans.
