The Extraction & Evasion Spring Assisted Cleaver from Smith&Wesson is a folding knife that stands out from the crowd. It combines the practicality of most knives on the market with the comfort of handling, thanks to its larger handle. It makes a great choice for an EDC (Every Day Carry) knife, as well as during work or as part of a tourist outfit. A special feature of this knife is the spring-assisted flipper opening mechanism.
The blade, which has a Cleaver blade profile with a trapezoidal and pointed tip, is made of 8Cr stainless steel with a black coating. The rough-textured handle is made of aluminum coated with hard and non-slip rubber. The serrated edge of the handle provides a natural point of support for the thumb. When opened, the blade is locked by a simple and sturdy Liner Lock.
The knife is topped with a long clip for carrying deep inside the pocket of tactical pants. Its additional advantage is that it can be attached on the other side, as well as upside down, if the user so desires. The hole bored in the clip for handling mounting screws can also be used to pull a paracord or other cord.
