The Coytu Folding Rescue Knife, which is a streamlined version of the original Coypu model from Ka-Bar. It retained many of the basic features from the original such as the shape of the blade and handle, as well as the glass breaker and belt cutter. However, it has redesigned the ergonomics of the handle, as well as the clip, lock and opening mechanism. New materials were also used to further enhance the quality of the tool.
Heads with Drop Point profile were made of AUS 8A stainless steel, which was additionally coated with a black coating to protect surfaces from scratches. The applied notches on the back of the blade help to support the thumb or index finger when working with the tool. The user can use the Flipper's fluted flipper to extend the blade. The blade extends extremely smoothly.
The Crossbar Lock, which is the equivalent of the Axis Lock, is used to lock the blade in place. Its operation is extremely simple and is based on pulling the pawl. Thanks to this lock, with enough skill it is possible to retract the blade in one movement, provided that the user takes care of the correct grip without leaving fingers in the way of the blade.
Attached to the handle is a steel clip, which can be flipped to the other side and will work well as an attachment to the pocket of tactical pants. The contoured handle with textured and non-slip patterns is made of GFN polymer. In the foot, the user has a glass breaker with a convex tip, and next to it a belt cutter, hidden from direct contact with fingers.
