The High Candela version of the P.ID small arms flashlight from Holosun is designed for mounting on the MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail. This model features an LED that generates a light output of up to 800 lumens and 42,000 candelas, with a narrower beam with greater range compared to the base P.ID. The flashlight's power source is a flat-top 18350 lithium-ion battery.
The battery can be charged via the included magnetic USB cable, in which case it does not need to be removed. In addition, the charging port is located on the underside, so there is no need to disassemble the flashlight beforehand. The charging status is indicated by an indicator in the form of an LED, located next to the port. If necessary, access to the compartment for power supply, is possible after unscrewing the head.
The 18350's rechargeable battery provides up to 60 minutes of operation in low mode with 400 lm and 21,000 cd luminosity. The flashlight is activated by a double-sided Paddle Switch located on the back of the housing. Pressing and holding the button will allow the light to illuminate until your finger is released from it, while toggling activates the fixed mode. The use of a symmetrical switch allows for convenient operation for both right- and left-handed users.
The flashlight's body was milled from 7075 aluminum and finished with an anodized finish. This translates into increased resistance to mechanical damage, and the use of a number of seals made it possible to meet the IP68 standard. Mounting on the Picatinny rail is done with a spring-loaded clamp, which can be turned even with the orifice of the shell. Interchangeable adapters allow you to adjust the extension of the flashlight in 3 degrees of about 2 mm each.
