A handy Single Mini water filter from Sawyer. It can be used as a short straw to drink directly from a water source, a filter on a water bottle with a 28mm thread, or a filtering element of a hydration kit with the appropriate accessory adapter. It is capable of retaining up to 99.9999% of protozoa, 99.99999% of bacteria and 100% of microplastics.
The filter is made with micro-fiber technology through which water is passed. The holes in the fibers have a diameter of no more than 0.1 μm, thus effectively stopping dangerous bacteria and protozoa that are habitually at least a few microns in size. Thanks to its high capacity, the filter makes it possible to quickly soothe thirst during a march or a stopover, as well as to effectively filter more water, for example, in camp.
With proper maintenance, the filter is capable of purifying up to 100,000 gallons (378,541 liters) of water. Due to the high strength of the fibers used, backwashing can be used to clean the filter with the included syringe. It is important that when doing so, the reverse direction of filtration is maintained and clean water is used.
