Mil-Tec shoelaces are made of waxed cotton, which reduces moisture absorption and makes them less prone to staining. The waxed surface improves slippage when threading through the grommets, while stabilizing the knots after tying.
The oval cross-section makes it easier to guide the laces in lacing systems used in military, tactical and work boots. After washing, to restore the properties of the laces, they must be re-waxed.
