Fenix - Rechargeable LED Searchlight LR80R - 18 000 lm - 12 000 mAh
Searchlight LED with Battery LR80R 18000 Lumens 12000 mAh Black Fenix
LR80R is a powerful searchlight from reputable company Fenix with many years of experience in creating technologically advanced flashlights. Incredibly high light output is achieved thanks to the use of six Luminus SFT70 LEDs with a lifetime of 50,000 hours. This model is aimed at users looking for extremely high parameters so that the searchlight can effectively fulfill its role in search and rescue operations, industrial applications or the exploration of large-area objects.
The housing of the LR80R flashlight is made of anodized A6061-T6 aviation aluminum. This and the exact sealing of the entire structure allows it to meet the IP68 standard and thus it is resistant to a fall from a height of 1 meter, dust and dust do not penetrate into it and it can be completely submerged in water. Removable large handle makes it easy to transport and allows you to conveniently direct the beam of light even during long-term use. In addition, the holder has a thread compatible with the standard mount for photo tripods. This solution allows you to easily set the flashlight so that it illuminates a specific direction without the constant need to hold it in your hands.
On the head, the manufacturer has placed a deep groove that acts as a heat sink, effectively dissipating heat, generated by a set of 6 powerful LED emitters. Additionally, on the front of the head there is a raised ring made of steel that protects the optical system against accidental damage, e.g. by placing the flashlight in a vertical position. To improve adhesion, the body was milled. This process also gives the flashlight a modern twist. The flashlight can be successfully placed vertically and efficiently illuminate the interior of a cave (the so-called candle function) or other explored object thanks to its flat base . In the rear part the searchlight has a hole for attaching a lanyard or a security line.
Two steel buttons for starting and changing modes were placed on the side of the flashlight and marked with the letters "L" and "H". Their size and high responsiveness allow you to quickly locate and activate the flashlight even in tactical gloves. The "L" button is responsible for switching on and changing the light levels in the group of standard modes (from eco - 50 lumens to high - 1000 lumens), while the "H" button is used to turn on and change the light levels in the group of high modes (from low - 3000 lumens to turbo - 18,000 lumens).
LR80R searchlight has a blockade function to protect against unwanted activation, e.g. during transport. The lock is turned on and off by pressing both buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. Above the buttons there is also a LED battery charge indicator . To check the battery level, just press one of the buttons for 1 second with the flashlight off.
The use of six modern Luminus SFT70 LEDs and SMO reflectors allowed for clean, smooth light, with an impressive maximum power of up to 18,000 lumens and a range of up to 1130 m in the turbo mode. This means that the emitted light beam almost exceeds five times the height of the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw. To ensure minimal losses in the generated light, the manufacturer used toughened glass with 98% transmittance additionally covered with anti-reflective coating. Incredibly powerful beam of light with a width of 75° can be used in monitoring of facilities, exploration and extreme tourism as well as search and rescue operations conducted by uniformed services.
Charging the built-in battery takes place via the USB-C port after connecting the cable to it and any power source, such as a power bank, laptop, desktop computer or car charger USB. The 12,000 mAh battery can be fully charged in just 4 hours thanks to the 45 watt port and support for PD3.0 / PD2, QC3.0 and QC2.0 fast charging protocols. Next to the charging port, I also find another one that allows the flashlight to function as a powerbank allowing for emergency charging of the phone or PMR radio. Ports are protected against moisture with rubber plugs.
For the safety of the user and proper functionality, the LR80R flashlight is equipped with a intelligent proximity sensor, activated automatically when the head is too close to the ground. Below a distance of 60 mm from the ground and illuminating it for 1.5 seconds, the flashlight automatically lowers the brightness level (to eco mode). After moving the head away from the illuminated object for more than 0.8 seconds, the flashlight controller automatically restores the previously used brightness level. The LR80R also features overheating protection, reverse polarity protection and a low battery warning.
